Great victory by the Redsticks at the Estadi Olímpic

The Spanish women's absolute team has defeated China (4-0), in its second match held in the FIH Pro League that has been held at the Estadi Olímpic de Terrassa.

Adrian Lock's team once again offered good performances on the Catalan blue surface and managed to materialize the opportunities that presented themselves in the first quarter. Xantal Giné took advantage of a direct shot to open the result with a shot that went past the eastern goalkeeper (1-0, Minute 7).

From the penalty corner, the second clear opportunity for the #RedSticks would also be born thanks to Maialen García's post that deflected a shot to widen the difference (2-0, Minute 15).

In the second half, Spain did not slow down and took control of an intense game against a rival who could not feel comfortable on the pitch. Lucía Jiménez, after good pressure, was able to score the third goal, but the ball was cleared by the visiting defense. At the stroke of half-time, China looked for the goal through a penalty corner that became a stroke. María Tello stopped the shot with a brilliant intervention to keep the goal undefeated.

After the break, both teams started the second half with a good rhythm and with a lot of intensity. Despite the attempts of his opponent, Adrian Lock's offered order and security in the first row, facilitating the creation of the game to a midfield that began to seize control of the ball. Thus would come a new goal for the Spanish, again the work of Xantal Giné, who once again showed his effectiveness from the PC thus signing his personal double (3-0, Minute 37). The third quarter ended with a shot by Begoña García that went close to the rival goal.

In the last set, the intensity decreased, but Spain kept possession of the ball. García, once again, sought his goal again with a play that would end in a foul in the area, allowing his teammate Gigi Oliva to score the fourth goal of the match thanks to a penalty stroke that slipped inside the goal (4-0 , minute 59).

This is how the end of the match came, with a resounding victory for Adrian Lock's team that said goodbye with very good feelings from an Olympic Stadium that in less than a month will welcome them again to inaugurate the FIH Women's World Cup Spain & Netherlands 2022 presented by IBERDROLA.
