The Redsticks selected for the World Cup

The Iberdrola Campus has been the venue chosen this Monday for the presentation of the 20 players called to play the next FIH Hockey Women's World Cup Spain & Netherlands 2022 Presented by Iberdrola, which will be played from July 1 to 17 in Terrassa .

Adrian Lock, women's national coach, has been in charge of revealing the final list for the World Cup event in an act presented by the skater Sara Hurtado, which was attended by the president of the Royal Spanish Hockey Federation, Santiago Deó; as well as the global director of Marketing and Digitization of Iberdrola, David García Fabre.

Iberdrola has been promoting the Spanish women's hockey team since 2016, as well as the highest national competition, the Iberdrola League, and the Iberdrola Queen's Cup, but as a firm sign of its commitment to this sport, it has wanted to join the RedSticks and the Royal Federation Española de Hockey in this World Cup becoming presenting partner of the competition that will be held in two venues: Terrassa and Amsterdam.

Santiago Deó wanted to begin by thanking “IBERDROLA, which has provided us with these magnificent facilities to be able to make this presentation. But not only for this, but for all the support you have been giving us for years, which has helped our women's team grow until it returns to the first international competitive level." The president has also focused on doing so "specifically by betting on a World Cup that will bear your name around the world and on which we have been working, for years now, with so much enthusiasm". As for the team that will represent Spain in the World Cup, it is "sure, as it always does, that it will give its best, with respect and sportsmanship, to represent our hockey and our country in the best way".

For his part, Adrian Lock commented that “we are very excited for it to start now and to enjoy this incredible stadium. In addition, the women's coach admitted that "I think it will be a very nice experience and that we will be able to enjoy a stadium full of friends and family."

Closing the event, Iberdrola's global director of Marketing and Digitization, David García Fabre, explained that "we are proud to open the doors of our house to announce a list as important as that of a World Championship". Regarding the World Cup, he assured “that this World Championship held in Spain and the Netherlands is a great moment for women's hockey, which is why we don't hesitate for a moment to become a presentig partner of the championship”.
